Although today’s generation of youth culture may have been exposed to more fanciful offerings of desserts such as frozen yogurt, gelato, soft serve and whatnot, there’s always a place in the heart for a good old-fashioned local dessert. One such example is our local favourite cendol — the familiar sweet sensation consists of finely-shaved ice loaded with thick Gula Melaka syrup, coconut milk, red beans and of course… the soft and chewy texture of green cendol strands.

Calling the place as “the best cendol in town” would be an overstatement, but Restoran Wahab’s does provide a wide variety of colourful cendol for cendol lovers to choose from.Not every day you get to see a bowl of ice-cold cendol with “nangka” (jackfruit) topping. If you want something more “challenging”, there’s the Cendol Special – a rich concoction of ABC-like ingredients such as ice cream, banana, sweet corns, tapai ubi (fermented tapioca), pulut (glutinous rice) and barley. Yes, it’s a lot and certainly not for the weak stomach if you plan to polish the whole bowl all by yourself.More info
