    Huat Chicken

Here is a chicken rice shop that whips up a "Huat" or silky smooth Kai Si Hor Fun, a shop that is definitely worth the entry on your train of food. The clarity and freshness of the soup will certainly impress you, especially when it takes more 10 hours to prepare. The bold and refined flavours are also drawn from a good amount of prawns during the boiling process. If you think that's it, you can't brush aside the toppings of shredded chicken too, as it gives the dish a more dimensional taste.

    Tips

You can ask for a side of their signature chicken too.

    Restoran Jen Jen

Eat here if you want to avoid tourists and eat amongst locals instead. Food tastes genuinely local and the environment is characteristically Ipoh - relaxed and casual. One of the stalls here serves really fantastic Kai Si Hor Fun.The standard one is served with prawns and shredded chicken meat but you can add or order on the side other add ons such as jellyfish or steamed chicken with 'nga choy' (bean sprouts) which also happens to be one of the better ones in Ipoh.  Their soup base is really tasty and whatever they can offer.
