Best Cendol in KL

Written by Updated ago

Although today’s generation of youth culture may have been exposed to more fanciful offerings of desserts such as frozen yogurt, gelato, soft serve and whatnot, there’s always a place in the heart for a good old-fashioned local dessert. One such example is our local favourite cendol — the familiar sweet sensation consists of finely-shaved ice loaded with thick Gula Melaka syrup, coconut milk, red beans and of course… the soft and chewy texture of green cendol strands.

Malaysia may have been renowned for its local cendol dessert, but the neighbouring country of Thailand has its own version of cendol as well. Available with or without durian ice cream, the Thai Cendol is a refreshing paradise of shaved ice and thick Gula Melaka syrup served with rich coconut milk. If there’s a dessert to complement with your hot and spicy Thai meal, this one definitely hit the spot.
