Bearing the phrase “Pasti Tinggal Tulang”, literally means eating to the bone, you can definitely expect the best out of the grilled fish here! The grilling methods vary from an all time favourite spicy flavour “Masak Pedas” to a creamy, sweet, sour and salty “Tom Yam Pok Tek”. If you do not fancy spicy food, opt for the “Stim Limau” grilling version.

A must-try item from Seri Muara Alai Nasir is their Grilled Stingray as well as grilled Kembong Fish with Sambal. As it is a village restaurant located far from town, they utilize a very traditional cooking method. The fresh seafood is cooked directly on top of a large concrete stove with fiery fire, so the place can get pretty hot sometimes. If you're running low on money, here's the place for you as their seafood is pretty affordable.More info

The restaurant is located right beside the fishing jetty, so you can expect fresh fish on your plate. The queue here is long at almost every point of dining. You have to queue to enter, queue for the selection of seafood and also queue for your seats if the restaurant is full-house. But fret not, because its worth the wait. Luckily, the food is served quite fast once you are seated. Their signature grilled fish is the Bakar Bercili (which basically means Grilled Chilli) and to our surprise it is more sweet and sour instead of spicy.More info

J & J, Portuguese Settlement
Another famous stall is J & J Seafood Corner, which is located at the very end of the row of stalls in Portuguese Settlement. They are actually more notable for their mango drinks but the seafood prepared by them are as good as their drinks, too. The grilled fish is cooked in an aluminium foil and upon opening the foil, you would be greeted with a fragrant grilled fish, infused with a thick red chili sauce. A good plus point to note is that their fish is really tender, so it was very easy to eat.More info

Grilled Fish at Rose and Ali's is certainly catered more towards the locals as it is located further out of town. The stall is situated in a food court-styled known as Medan Ikan Bakar, with various stalls displaying their catch to customers. It's pretty much easy to eat here as you can just proceed to choose from a variety of fresh seafood from their catch of the day (be spoilt!), choose the style of cooking from the board, and finally, just wait for the fish to be cooked.
