Madam Chiam Curry Noodle House
She raves about her five-star curry noodles but it’s her dry chilli pan mee that gets the attention of customers. As with most shops, it’s served with minced pork, fragrant anchovies and watery soft boiled egg for added flavour. However, she rebels against the traditional hand-pinched/long and springy/soft and chewy pan mee that we’re all familiar with and serves egg noodles instead. But we won’t hold that against her! Another unassuming eatery, Restoran Kin Kin is located in the peculiar spot among mechanic shops and is best known for its chilli pan mee. The noodles are purely handmade and is a big hit for its springy and chewy texture. To top it all off, each pan mee dish is completed with a soft poached egg, minced pork and anchovies. Chilli flakes are unlimited so depending on how hot you can handle, feel free to top up as you go! Tian Yake Mee Cendawan
Serving pan mee with character since 1975! All noodles are rolled and flattened using a good ol’fashioned glass bottle and served with lots and lots of mushrooms. It may not be the most ideal place to set up a hawker stall, but that doesn’t stop customers from swarming in like moths to a flame! Mr Yong’s broth has a thick consistency that you can hardly find in most soup pan mee. If you opt to add an egg, they’ll crack one right onto the bottom of your bowl to slowly cook in piping hot soup.
