Best Satays in KL

Written by Updated ago

Celup-celup bersama! Translated to English, it means, Let’s dip together! Satay or also originally and popularly known as sate, has been an iconic Malay dish that’s mainly comprised of just one ingredient; seasoned meat! Most satay meat is smothered with turmeric powder and grilled on charcoal until it’s fully cooked, some are burnt until the skin is dark and that’s where the smokey taste comes from! Impress your friends and family, especially the ones living abroad coming back for a holiday, to some of Kuala Lumpur’s best satay around!

Satay Station is one of the most famous satay chains around KL. With 8 branches under them, Satay Station might probably be a restaurant with the most branches and this one here is the Kampung Pandan branch. One good thing about Satay Station is their juicy and big portions. If you don’t mind some fat in your satay, then you will love this place!

Fancy something a little more elegant than just the road side stalls? JP Teres serves a la carte and buffets throughout the day, even for breakfast! This all-day buffet serves plenty of cuisines to date; Chinese, Japanese, Western, Malay, etc. The satay here is freshly grilled and delicately skewered. Fans of lean protein, take note! Unlike the satays outside, these satay sticks are very lean and there are no fats on them. The peanut sauce is also not too flammable on the tongue, favouring the taste buds of those who can’t take anything too spicy.

The lamb satay is also available a la carte.
