Best Roti Bakar in PJ

If you're looking for some classic roti bakar, then this is definitely the place to be. Unlike some of the newer restaurants, this kopitiam stuck to its traditional method of preparation by using homemade white loaf of bread (not Gardenia of Massimo), a generous layer of salted butter and of course, our favourite kaya. It is then toasted on a rack of coals, giving it that smokiness and flavour that it needs. It may seem like a simple dish, but the flavours are excellent and the feeling of nostalgia is pretty neat. 

Rail Canteen is a humble restaurant located in the bustling town of Kota Damansara. Though Nexis may not be as occupied as Sunway Giza, it does have several decent restaurants within the vicinity. Originated from Kelantan, Rail Canteen is set to offer its diners a wide range of delicacies which includes their amazingly simple yet delicious roti bakar. Served with kaya and butter or sambal in a bread which resembles a butter roll, it certainly is delicious. 

Old Town White Coffee is another great place to get your daily fix of roti bakar and many more delicious dishes. They're quite popular with their series of local coffee - especially their white coffee, one that is served in a beige mug with flowery patterns highlighted in green, recommended to stir the cup to create that annoying 'ah-beng' noise - yes, that. 

As the name suggests, Toast Box is home to great roti bakar. Not only are these little slabs of love filled with a good amount of butter and kaya, they are toasted to crispy perfection as well. There are also various other flavours such as peanut butter and jam available. Accompanying that would be some perfectly done half-boiled eggs and a hot beverage - now you can have the classic Malaysian breakfast in a mall! 

It is what it is, Kopi Time Cafe is home to many local breakfast favourites that has been passed on by generations after generations. Dishes such as toasts, half-boiled eggs, fish ball noodles, and mee hoon are some of the most popular items here. Similarly, their roti bakar is done quite nicely with sufficient butter and kaya, giving it that richness and flavour that it needs.
