Best Fried Chickens in KL

Written by Updated ago

Kids love it. Adults enjoy it as well. The “it” in question is none other than fried chicken; you can say it’s like a national comfort food among all walks of life in Malaysia. Not only can you easily find this delicious poultry in fast-food restaurant, you can also locate them in various stalls, cafes and restaurants as well. So what makes fried chicken such a crowd favorite? First of all, the sight of a fried chicken itself is mouth-watering enough to make you crave for one. Then there’s the sensational feeling of crackling sound upon every bite on the crispy skin, right before you indulge deeper into the tender white meat. Fried chicken may have been known for its greasiness and high-cholesterol level, but of course, moderation is the key when it comes to savouring this guilty-pleasure food.

Since its introduction into the local market more than a decade ago, this famous hawker-stall style outlet has been mushrooming all around major shopping malls in the Klang Valley area alone. By now, many locals would recognise some of Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks’ signature foods such as mee sua and sweet plum potato fries. Another popular food worthy of a mention is their XXL Crispy Chicken. Like the name suggests, the fried chicken is particularly large in size and enough to be eaten on its own as a main course, especially if you have an average appetite. Best of all, it is served piping-hot upon order and deep-fried to golden brown perfection using special batter. The fried chicken is not only crispy, but the additional Oriental seasoning on the skin makes it more flavourful. The chicken meat, in the meantime, is tender enough till the last bite.

    Tips

Recently, the outlet has introduced a new food item known as Squid Ink Tempura.
