At less than RM10.00 per plate, this is quite a deal for those who wishes to get a good grub while retaining from burning a hole in his or her wallet. A handful of flat noodles skillfully fried with dark soy sauce to produce the aromatic trademark scent of Char Kuey Teow, the dish is fried with a copious amount of fish cakes, eggs, beansprouts, cockles and least but not least, A LOT of shrimp. And according to legend, there might be baby octopuses too, so do keep your eyes pried open for tell-tale signs of tentacles. Garnished with fried onions and coriander leaves for the extra aroma as well as aesthetics, this is one dish to look out for whenever you pay a visit to Nan Yang Cottage at Centro Mall.

Fried in a scorching hot wok to ensure that the noodles are imparted with all the necessary "wok hei", a signature characteristic of any good Char Kuey Teow, the noodles are accompanied by a decadent amount of side ingredients that makes the overall dish delectable. The presence of sprouts, cockles, shrimps and chives, as well as egg really helped in accentuating the savoury flavour of the dish. Full of "wok hei", the Char Kuey Teow is more inclined to the drier side of the spectrum but it's all the more delectable as a result. Fragrant is one way to describe its aroma but no words can do it justice in terms of how it tastes. Served with a couple of plump, succulent shrimps, cockles, beansprouts and chives along with eggs, this mildly spicy fried flat noodle dish is truly a gastronomical delight worth every penny.
