Best Online Cakes

Written by Updated ago

Having a cake is one of life’s greatest pleasures, it has been labeled the pièce de résistance of all important occasions and for good reason since a party is never complete without a cake. Nowadays, it is not just about WHERE you bought the cake, it is also about HOW you ordered it and WHO did you order it from. Because of these questions, the birth of online cake boutiques has taken place. Which makes sense since cakes should be given a personalised touch which most stores now lack, having them mass produced at bakeries or factories instead. Well, since FoodAdvisor is all about championing local startup entrepreneurs (plus having cake for breakfast), here, we have listed the best online cakes in Kuala Lumpur along with their Facebooks & Instagrams, in case you feel like having cake any time of the day. Let them eat cake, I say!

Rankings of all participants as visible on our listings are solely voted by you, our beloved readers. With that said, we would encourage you to please vote for your preferred participants in order to ensure their rightful positions ranking-wise on our portal. Thank you!

Sugar Candy by Tengku AliannaPork free d90bfb235d64e73ff14d8ad65b89aaab71a3af43962907cb9cd494af0a63fa21Alco free 9fb1f2c65edc2c1eaf4e8b24402d108dd33cc2bc71f0fb0022a54c3c390a66c8

I have heard of this young lady’s online cake business for a while now. So one day, I decided to follow the shop on Instagram and BOOM, I fell in love with the colourful, pretty concoctions that the owner, Tengku Alianna has come up with. I was in pastel heaven & I was thinking to myself, the girl can definitely bake. The main star of Sugar Candy? The immensely delicious Vanilla Pavlova. For those who has little knowledge about pavlova, it is a meringue cake originating from Australia. According to Alianna, the pavlova is sooo popular that more than one goes out of her baking studio every single day. The cake tastes as good as it looks & is not too eggy-tasting which most of you will like since certain pavlovas tend to go overboard with the eggs. And best of all, you can customise what sort of fruits you want as the topping. More great news? She bakes everything on her own, even fondant cakes too! The FoodAdvisor team foresee a bright future for this booming cake boutique (after all, a real life Malaysian royal family member has even ordered from here & who can go wrong with a princess’s choice?).
    Tips

For clients wishing to order elaborately designed cakes, please do NOT order at the eleventh hour or you’ll be crying blood later. Details need time, people.

    Things to expect

Expect an execution that is as close to perfection as you can get in baking. Alianna clearly pays a lot of attention to the details.

    Best with

Tea if you’re having this in the afternoon & warm milk if you’re planning to have this before bedtime (WHO SAYS CAKE SHOULD ONLY BE HAD IN THE DAYTIME?)

If the Sugarcandy online cake boutique is owned by a lady, lo and behold, Cakeliciousmy is owned by a…drumroll please…a gentleman. Now that fact alone puts all of us girls including me to shame. Syahir, the owner, bakes extravagant cakes. Our team gasped when we saw his flowery, chrysanthemum-ish butter cake on Cakelicious’ Facebook page. As much as people tend to underrate the simplicity of butter cakes, we personally feel that getting the IT factor just right is critical when it comes to butter cakes. Thankfully, Cakelicious got it right. The visual aspect of the cake is heavenly, look at the frosting, icing & everything on the cake. Beautiful. But aside from the butter cakes, Cakelicious has another bestseller which is the Devil’s Chocolate Cake. Devilish indeed. Will Cakelicious make way for more male bakers? We hope so.
    Tips

It’s best that you have your own transport since this cake shop does not provide delivery service.

    Things to expect

Expect hot, freshly made cakes. We’re serious, the owner places so much importance on delivering freshly made cakes (he makes them 2-3 hours before pick-up time!)

    Best with

A sip of hot tea. Just in case you feel a little bit heavier after all the butter cakes.
