77 Restaurant
77 Restaurant is the closest thing you can find to a warm and hearty home cooked meal. The restaurant itself is nothing to shout about but the quality and taste of each dish is definitely worth a word or two. That includes their signature fish head curry which is packed with a rich depth of flavour, fresh vegetables and of course, a generous portion of a head. Simple, hearty and absolutely delicious. It's a great place to have a family dinner.

Hameediyah Restaurant
Known as the oldest restaurant still operating in Penang ever since 1907, the essentials to Hameediyah Restaurant is still intact. This Indian restaurant has been really popular with its nasi briyani and of course, fish head curry as well. Done with a nice blend of spices, the fish head curry is not exceptionally spicy but instead has a nice balance of flavour. The portion of the head is usually really generous, too, as it works really well in absorbing all those amazing fragrance and flavour. A dish that is simple, warm and goes amazingly well with their briyani rice - definitely a must-try!

The Myth Curry Fish Head
Having the shop named "The Myth" would somewhat indicate that the fish head curry is an amazing dish that was once told in a legend. Despite the awesome name, the restaurant doesn't look very fancy but, it does work in its own ways. Fresh fish heads are picked every morning before the opening, as you'll be able to see in a cooler box. Their version of the fish head curry has a slightly thicker broth compared to most, and uses quite a number of tomatoes. Hence, the sweetness and sourness from the curry itself. It's light, sweet and is quite acceptable to kids as well.
