You might be wondering, is Delay No More really the name of the restaurant? The answer is yes. It’s one of the latest establishment that offers an extensive range of seafood, both at an affordable or premium scale. Though the core ingredients remained the same, the style and method used to cook them are really different. However, we would like to mention the most standard Salt Baked Crab (600grams). It was simple, fresh and absolutely sweet with hints of saltiness as well. The crab meat was fresh and needed no additional saucing or gravy as the salt itself was sufficient to trigger our taste-buds. Simply lovely and absolutely worth trying!

    Tips

For a cheaper alternative, do opt for the lunch menu, starting at RM28 for 2-3 pax.

One of the few Halal Chinese seafood restaurants in town, Ibrahim's Fatty Crab truly is a place worth considering, especially for multiracial gatherings. Apart from their usual array of crabs, they do occasionally bring in monstrous being like the Alaskan King Crab. It's huge, it's sweet and it's absolutely delicious. Now, if budget is a problem, then perhaps the regular sized crabs might just be the one you seek. However, it's still fresh and cooked to perfection, so do not worry too much about it. If you need a partner to work along the crab, we recommend the freshly shucked oysters which is served beckoning on a bed of ice.

If you are looking for something different, The Forum is ready to serve you with some soft shell crabs. Soft-shell crab is a culinary term for crabs which have recently molted their old exoskeleton and are still soft. This implies that nearly the whole crab can be eaten, as opposed to shelling it to reach the meat. Eating crab has become so much easier now. Fresh from Pahang, the soft shell crabs here are simply fresh and juicy in every bite. The idea is to appreciate the local seafood goods. Served with garden-fresh shreds of carrots and rockets, this recommended platter might be simple but enough to satisfy your grumbling tummy. Perfect as a starter or light meal, the crabs are also served alongside wasabi mayo dip. Yummy!

Mei Keng Fatt excels in providing their customers with huge Australian crabs. The price may be a little higher than usual but it’s definitely worth the price. As usual, there are plenty of styles to choose from; sweet & sour, chilli, salted egg baked, salted baked, buttermilk and many more! And it’s pretty tough to pick a winner. In addition, their side dishes of lalas and fried rice accompany your crabs quite well. Overall, it will definitely be pricier than most seafood restaurant but quality is guaranteed, which matters the most.

However, despite its efforts of escaping mainstream media, patrons and customers had posted plenty of positive comments on both their Facebook and Foursquare page. Tempura Moriawase is the signature tempura platter at Ishin Japanese Dining. Served thoughtfully with grated radish and lemon slice, the dish consists of lightly battered soft shell crab and aubergine tempura. The aubergine is coated with tempura and fried under high heat that leads to a crunchy outside but still with a soft inside. The contrasting texture is very pleasant to the tongue. The snow crab tempura is the star of the show as well as it should be. The shell of the crab is cracked beforehand leaving just the flesh; that are chewy with just a hint of the seafood sweetness.

    Tips

The tempura on the soft shell crab may be a bit sharp so be careful not to hurt yourself.

The snow crab dishes served at Tsubohachi cover a wide spectrum of dishes. There’s the snow crab nabe that tops the bowl with snow crabs goodness together with a slew of vegetables. Every hot spoonful of this dish is bursting with fresh crab essence, and the mushrooms with the tofu provide much needed texture. Then there’s broiled snow crab that’s gleaming with freshness on the plate. The crab shells are broken down so well that it’s effortless to pull the meat off of it. The crab meat is incredibly succulent and flavourful, and the lemon helps to add a sour dimension to the dish.

    Tips

Use the thin silver spoons dedicated for scooping crab meat from the shells.

When crabs is all you do, you'll do it well. That is at least what Fatty Crab is all about. They've built a business around crabs, and how they can make your dining experience a whole lot better. From a massive variety of flavours to choose from, to the fact that they now have delivery services, it's just quite amazing to see what Fatty Crab has become over the years. For first timers, the menu can be a little overwhelming. We highly recommend the chilli, pepper, sweet & sour as well as kam heong renditions. The gravies are meticulously made with great flavours, complementing the fresh flesh within. If you need an additional sidekick to polish the gravy, the buns here come free of charge.

Along the busy streets of OUG, where the jam is normally built upon, lies Restoran Hai Peng. It’s not exactly difficult to find, but many do tend to miss it as it’s blocked by trees. But at night, the bright luminous lights do help to capture your attention. Regardless, Restoran Hai Peng is like many other seafood restaurants, nothing too fancy, just standard Chinese restaurant style. Unfortunately for those who prefer steamed or salt baked crab, they aren’t very good at that. However, in terms of sauces, they do deserve merit and the portion is quite good.

Seafood doesn't get any better than this, as Hokkaido Seafood Restaurant is one of the leaders in this tightly-competed industry. They offer a fairly limited but stunning array of seafood such as crabs, lobsters, prawns, fish and many more. Located in the not-so-friendly-neighbourhood of Jinjang, Restoran Long Grilled Fish Seafood still has quite an outstanding amount of customers. Either they are not afraid of the common gangsterism issue, or it has subsided over the years. Let’s put that issue aside, Restoran Long Grilled Fish Seafood is actually really popular for their ikan bakar as well as the signature baked crab. By doing so, the natural flavours of the crab is retained, while being kept juicy and moist. Large dollops of butter add a creamy dimension to the dish. All in all, it’s quite addictive.

    Brolly

You may be surprised but Brolly is home to a pretty decent array of seafood (and more). This rather unique, rustic and 'motor-themed' cafe with a giant red Mercedes bus at the entrance truly is something special. Apart from the picture-worthy setting, the choices of seafood which include crabs, prawns and clams are pretty unique as well. Freshness is definitely on point while the flavours just add a bit of character to it. What more can you ask for than breaking into fleshy and flavourful crabs while chugging down cold beers.
