A classic Indian flatbread, Chapati is made out of Atta flour mixed with water. Traditionally, roti is made without salt to create a bland base for spicy dishes. As we know, Indian cuisine incorporate a whole lot of spices and thus, many Indian dishes are complex in flavours. The diameter and thickness of chapati is variable from region to region. Specifically in ours, chapati is made towards the thinner side, typically in the diameter of a dinner plate. If you're in Klang, these are the restaurants to head to for the best chapati in town.

One of the more popular mamak in the area, Al-Shariff is a common Malaysian hangout spot. With that said, expect the place fully crowded especially during football nights. When you're there, check out the chapati which is cleanly made with a bit of burnt parts (just how we love it!). More importantly, the dips are absolutely delicious here. The dhal for one, is amazing – thick in consistency and savoury to taste, it's the perfect accompaniment to your healthy flatbread.
Modern Corner is a relatively smaller mamak restaurant compared to large ones that typically take up two or more shop lots. Modern Corner takes up only one corner shoplot and thus, seating may be limited at times. There's no shisha or anything so most people frequent here for the good food. Many dishes are recommended here, such as tandoori, rendang, roti, burgers, maggi goreng and whatnot. And in case you were wondering, yes the list basically includes (almost) everything...
Chola Kitchen is a family-owned South Indian cuisine restaurant that serves Indian and Pakistani food. The menu is pretty extensive here with classics such as dosa, varuval, briyani amongst others. As an ultimately Malaysian-owned restaurant, Chola Kitchen also serves local favourites such as nasi lemak and mee goreng. On top of that, Chola has tea time specials, such as vadai, baji and assorted kueh.
Mr. Mamak is a true embodiment of Malaysian restaurants. The place is a more 'modern' mamak as it is air-conditioned, well equipped and brightly lit. The chapati here reflects the simplicity yet delicacy of Indian cuisine. For more complexity in flavors, be sure to pair your bread with gravy or perhaps, opt for some Tandoori! Also, WiFi is available here. Just thought we'd put that out there.
Owned by the Lotus Group, there are currently more than ten branches of Lotus across the nation. Over the years, Lotus has gained a reputation for itself as it was one of the pioneers in banana leaf rice. Since then, the brand has slowly gained reputation in other local delights such as naan, tandoori and roti to name a few. The chapati here is amongst the more favourable dishes here. When it comes to roti, there's no healthier option than the chapati.
