Bisque Cafe
We're so used to sickeningly sweet waffles today, but did you know you can always enjoy them the non-sweet version? Say hello to Bisque's version of waffles that are savoury and absolutely finger licking good. Instead of blobs of ice cream toppings, you get fried chicken cutlets on top of your waffles. These yummy Southern American styled waffles taste even better after soaking up the drizzled honeyed maple syrup. So if you're looking for something that balances in texture and flavour, then you've got to give Bisque Cafe a try.

However, Fluffed Café and Dessert Bar is heading to a different direction. They want to offer the perfect plate of waffle with the right balance of flavours and textures, from its sweetness to its crunchiness. Bmon CafeCertified
halalBmon Cafe is a beautiful cafe, nicely decorated and inspired by the Taiwanese animation series. Inside the cafe, you’ll find a harmony of greens on the wall, along with self-drawn and placed together ornaments and decors. The menu is pretty extensive with usual café grubs done well, which includes the waffles too. It was pretty straight-forwarded - nicely done, buttery, crispy and airy waffle topped with a scoop of chocolate ice cream, along with freshly cut fruits and some chocolate sauce. Simple combination of flavours but it’s pretty addictive and affordable.

Inside Scoop
Famous for its smooth and creamy ice cream, it is no doubt that they would incorporate that into something new. Whether it is waffles, pancakes or crepe, the ice cream goes perfectly well with any them. Serving crisp, fresh and fluffy quarter cuts with icing sugar, chocolate syrup and two scoops of ice cream of your choice, it is a must try for waffle buffs out there. Another combination that we highly recommended is adding a scoop of durian ice cream into the mix for that distinctive flavour. Fret not, it’s 100% natural.

During the launch at Sunway Pyramid, 100s of people lined up to try out the very first Korean dessert café in Malaysia – especially when it is located in Sunway. Serving not only Belgian waffles but a variety of mixed coffee, fraps and “Patbinsu” (Korean shaved ice). The waffles itself though, was slightly at the sweet side. Seven Cups
Seven Cups is a beautiful, rustic and hipster-ish looking cafe situated in Empire Damansara. If you’re unfamiliar with the place, it might be a little difficult to find. But with the help of Waze or Google maps, we don’t think that would be much of an issue. Offering not only fresh Belgian waffles but coffee and desserts as well. The Belgian waffles were sweet, aromatic, crisp and fluffy. Served with deliciously sweet chocolate or maple syrup that even ice cream becomes a secondary option. While the employment of sliced bananas, chopped nuts and dusting of icing sugar just adds up the flavour and texture twist to the dish.

Wesley's Wild Honey
Honey has been proven to be good for you and Wesley's had taken that opportunity to build a business around it. Dubbed the Wesley's Wild Honey, the cafe aspire to bring the best honey within an affordable range to the consumer market of Malaysia. Most, if not all of their dishes, revolves around the use of honey. It's great and all, but can be frightening at times. Similarly, the waffle itself is incredibly crisp on the outside and fluffy in the center, accompanied by an array of fruits and berries and finished with a shot of Tualang Honey. That honey is what gives most of the flavour, which is really nice. Gentle, sweet and healthy!

Coffee Etc
With the rapid progression and sprouting of cafes all over Klang Valley, it is no surprise that Coffee Etc has joined the bandwagon. The place itself was pretty spacious and seating areas were spaced generously. It was really comfortable not having to squeeze with random strangers. Despite waffles not being their forte, they surprisingly do produce pretty good Belgian waffles. Once the waffles are nicely done, it’s coated with a thin layer of honey. It’s good on its own but the real deal got to be tarting it up with a medley of toppings.

ETAL Waffles
If you are in the mood for a simple, healthy and delicious piece (or multiple) of waffles, then head on down to ETAL Waffles at Jaya One! Unlike others, their waffle recipes are discovered in-house and the secret behind their crusty waffles lies within the use of Belgian Pearl Sugar. These sugars act as a caramelisation affect that gives the waffles a glossy and crisp crust, while providing a subtle-sweet flavour that just brushes through your tongue. On top of that, they also offer homemade ice cream on top of their waffles, which is absolutely fantastic. For those that aren't fond of a cold waffles, there's also a variety of jam, cheese and Japanese-inspired toppings. All of which are absolutely delicious.More infoETAL Waffles View restaurant

Walffeine
When it comes to combinations of waffles, Walffeine has got it all figured out. They are also experimenting on new recipes, using different ingredients and developing new flavours as well as textures with waffles as the base. After all, guess that is why they are called Walffeine. One of the crowd's favourite would be the Waffle with Chocolate Ice cream and Marshmallow, where the rich and sweet flavours of both the ice cream and marshmallows melts with the savoury-ness of the waffles. Truly a sinful dessert to say the least. As for the savoury side, you could go for the Okonomiyaki, which is a waffle-representation of the Japanese pan-fried snack.

The Bons Cafe
Previously a restaurant, The Bons Cafe has been overtaken and since been operating as a cafe, offering simple and light meals, coffees and of course, cakes and desserts as well. Focusing more on the waffle, it comes with a generous serving of tuna, salad, crispy waffles and chilli sauce. Dubbed as the Spicy Tuna Waffle, it's both crispy and light while packing in a good amount of flavour. Certainly is unique and one of a kind. To finish, order a cup of hot mocha or clippers tea to compliment.
