Alanna's Kitchen
Served in a stainless steel hot pot, the Seafood Tomyam is packed with assorted fresh seafood ingredients such as clams, squids and prawns. Added with chopped tomatoes, the tomyam soup has the right amount of spiciness and sourness. Not to mention, it is so appetising upon every spoonful and also best paired with the rice together.

Absolute Thai Hot Pot
Absolute Thai Hot Pot is the sub-brand of Absolute Thai, focusing on steamboat rather than the general Thai dishes. Unlike Absolute Thai, the Hot Pot variant actually has tom yam for its steamboat - which can be either white or the standard red. If you're into something sour, go for the white tom yam and if you prefer something a little more spicy, then go for the red. Or even better - take both as they also offer the ying-yong selection. Those who enjoy fresh seafood will be delighted to know that Absolute Thai Hot Pot's selection of seafood is outstandingly premium! So if you have cash to spare, why not head on down and treat yourself?

Yee Wen Thai
Yee Wen Thai isn't exactly a fancy restaurant, but they do surprisingly excel in classical Thai cuisine. From otak-otak in coconut to sour & spicy squid, and Thai omelette to seafood tom yam, they are all done quite nicely. Though, don't expect much from the presentation but flavour, yes. Definitely. In short, Yee Wen Thai is definitely a place to be if you are searching for good food instead of the whole package, which includes ambiance and service as well. Oh, they are also really affordable by the way, so good luck!

VietThai
The star at any Thai restaurant is the Tom Yam. At VietThai, they serve their Fresh Water Prawn with Tom Yam Vermicelli Noodle Soup with one big fresh water tiger prawn cut in half, squids, mushrooms and thick vermicelli. Put together in a big bowl, this dish is best enjoyed with a bunch of friends to share. As tom yam goes, the sourness is a welcoming taste, and the heat varies according to recipe and customer’s preference. VietThai does its tom yam with just a hint of heat at the first bite that would make one think it’s not spicy. But the heat actually creeps up later at the back of your mouth. Still, it’s nothing that Malaysians are not used to.

Hou Wong Kopitiam
Taking Tom Yam to a new level, this Tom Yam is served inside a coconut fruit as a bowl. Served with bihoon and large juicy, scrumptious prawns will leave you wanting for more. A three perfect combination completing the meal with a spicy tangy taste that’s worth every penny. A total delight from the very first bite.

KomPassion II
KomPassion's journey started in Damansara Kim as a simple and homy cafe that offers an array of delicious and modern Thai cuisines. Now, they have expanded over to TTDI in a larger and more vibrant-looking place, but still packing in the same, if not better level of quality in their food. The other difference is that this outlet does not serve pork while the first one do. Those who are looking for traditional Thai dishes might give this a pass, but for those who enjoy exploring new flavours and dishes, KomPassion II is possibly the best place to be.

BBQ Thai
BBQ Thai is a huge restaurant located along the routes of Old Klang Road. Finding this place isn't hard but getting here certainly is, considering that they only have 1 entrance and 1 exit, in addition to the horrible jam along Old Klang Road. It is also outdoor seated, which might be a turn off for some people. However, if you don't mind all that troubles and inconvenience, then you are in for a treat. They offer a standard array of Thai dishes such as pandan chicken, stir-fried paku pikis, Thai bbq pork neck and of course, seafood tom yam as well. It's simple, flavourful and addictive!

Restoran Thai Somtam Seafood
If you don't mind cramping with others in a fairly small restaurant, then you are off to a good start. Restoran Thai Somtam Seafood is a humble restaurant that serves what you'll expect from most Thai restaurants. Like some others out there, the restaurant is tight but is always packed with people. The reason can only be the awesomeness of their food. Cooked upon order with fresh ingredients, it's easy to see why the restaurant is so popular. As for their tom yam, you can expect a good amount of flavour and kick from the spices and herbs, which is both addictive and pleasurable!
