Amazingly, Suchan has been around the food and beverage scene for around 20 years and they are still going strong. The tiramisu here has been their most popular cake and Suchan is a 3-time award winner for Tatler Malaysia Best Restaurants in KL. The famous tiramisu uses coffee syrup as a substitute instead of an alcoholic syrup and it is as divine! The Victorian sponges are sandwiched with mascarpone cheese and bittersweet chocolate slices. To add a crunchy sweetness to it, caramelized almond pralines are sprinkled on the top garnished with a light strawberry puree at the side. It deserves a try, especially because it’s a good reason they are still standing strong since 1994!More info

Nosh Up
The tiramisu cake had multiple layers to savour. The crispy crushed and glazed nut top, the cream cheese filling, the sponge and of course, the base layer of soaked coffee. Though the essence of coffee wasn’t exactly strong nor was there a use of alcohol, Nosh Up’s tiramisu still deserves a praise for its flavour and texture. Many might not be aware that Food Foundry and Butter+Beans are actually from the same owners! Their famous mille crepe cakes are the same too, so no guilt into trying out another place that serves just as amazing coffee! Their tiramisu is a bit unique though. It’s a slice of tofu-like cake with caramelized almond flakes on top. This is perfect for those who can’t take the strong taste of coffee. Different presentation form wise but decent.More info

Their cakes are so good and you might not even notice this, but they are everywhere! Cake Tella is an online cake retailer who specializes in alcoholic and non-alcoholic cakes such as Signature Bailey’s Chocolate Mousse with Caramelized Hazelnuts, Whisky Salted Caramel Chocolate Mousses and of course, their famous Kahlua Tiramisu with Caramelized Almonds! With three branches under their belt, d'italiane made waves in the Italian food scene in PJ. Allegedly famous for their pastas, their tiramisu is also unique. Instead of the conventional serving of it being in a cup or a slice, d'italiane's tiramisu comes in a form of an upside down Rotiboy bun. Customers will have to scoop the fillings out with a spoon. Rather an unorthodox way of eating a tiramisu, right? Although it’s a tad bit pricey, it’s certainly worth the experience.More info

Their coffees from all over the world is their specialty, so do order what their barista would recommend on your preferences. Pick up a dessert along with that good cup of coffee too. Maria’s Steak Café is a very humble place and it’s even on their website, “Simple. No-frill. Nothing fancy.” It is reportedly said to serve the best, juiciest and most importantly, most affordable steaks in PJ. Located at Damansara Perdana currently, their KL branch is soon to be opened. Their tiramisu is their signature crowd pleaser and it sells out fast! Served in a wide cup, the alcohol is very apparent in this dessert. This large joint is located at One Utama and is most famous for its meaty ribs that might only suit the tastes of some. Besides meat, they also have decent pastas and desserts. Their tiramisu is too dry but the mascarpone cheese makes up for it.More info
