Best Thosai in Klang

Written by Updated ago

Many would consider Thosai to be a distant cousin of roti canai and technically, it's fairly accurate. Though they are not using the same sort of ingredients, they are prepared and served quite similarly. In any case, even if they are different, a good thosai is absolutely delicious. That milky yet pungent essence, creaminess and crispiness is well worth the praise.

    Restoran Shanmuga

Restoran Shanmuga is a huge, if not massive-sized mamak that offers everything from A-Z. Whether you would like a serving of banana leaf rice, or perhaps something as simple as a thosai, they have it all. It is also a popular hangout spot for most people in Klang, as they pretty much have the space for it. Staffs are friendly and attentive, but may be slow at times due to the amount of people. Overall, it's a pretty darn good place.

    Tips

A somewhat 'outdoor' mamak with a roof over your head.

    Best with

Sirap bandung, teh ais, limau ais or soft drink.

    Nasi Kandar Pelita Restaurant

Pelita as we all know, is quite a pricey place for some nasi kandar. However, if you're not going for the nasi kandar, you should be fine as the thosai is fairly affordable. Not only that, it is done beautifully with a good amount of richness and density. Encasing all those goodness is a thin and crisp layer that just makes everything a whole lot better. Served with 3 different types of curries.

    Tips

There are also several variants available like the thosai telur or thosai garlic.

    Things to expect

    A standard Pelita franchise.

    Best with

    Teh ais or milo ais.

    Price

    RM3.00
