Best Satay in Ipoh

Written by Updated ago

As versatile as it can be, satay is served as an Asian buffet item, an entree or even light bites that makes a perfect munch for supper. Well, to top it off, sliced cucumber, onion wedges and “ketupat” (compressed rice cakes) complements it as a package. Be it a chicken, pork or beef, with thin strips of lean and fat cuts marinated, pierced with a bamboo skewer, grilled to perfection over a charcoal fire right off the street, and dunked into a sweet and spicy sauce, the question is, how many sticks of meaty goodness can you handle? Challenge yourself with some of the best satay places in Ipoh.

Medan Selera Stadium is a food court where you can find a cluster of Chinese, Malay and Indian hawker stalls at a single location. While you can certainly try a wide variety of street food here, if light bites is what you’re looking for, Satay Stadium or the 20th stall, is not to be missed. GP or better known as Golden Point Food Court is yet another famous spot for breakfast, lunch  and dinner. It has an estimation of up to more than 30 hawker stalls such as “langkap pau”, curry fish head and satay. For those of you love to slurp a thick and fiery broth, go for the curry fish head. Otherwise, satay is one of the top picked stalls here. The good thing about it is its succulent meat along with the removal of charred edges from the char-grilled meat before it is served! Who would even bother to do that nowadays?
