Naan is a leavened, oven-baked flatbread
found in the cuisines of West, Central and South Asia. Typically, naan is made
of flour, salt, yeast culture, and yogurt in order to produce soft and elastic
dough. The dough is then kneaded and set aside for a few hours to rise. Once
risen, the dough is divided into balls about 100 grams each, which are
flattened and cooked. Nowadays, naan is made with lots of flavours like garlic,
ginger, and cheese. Curry, dhal, and chicken tandoori are among the side dishes
served to complement the authentic Indian dish.
