If you're looking for a healthier alternative to any conventional desserts, IlaoIlao may just be the place for you. Originated in Spain, the natural frozen yoghurt giant has been really well received internationally, especially in our neighbouring country Singapore. Apart from just yoghurt, they have a series called the Sanum, where it's done with a layer of froyo at the bottom of the cup, followed by your choice of topping, three layers of fruits, another layer of topping, a generous amount of froyo on top and drenched with your choice of sauce.

Milkshake Factory
Not to confuse with The Cream & Fudge Factory (which ironically happens to be situated at Nu Sentral as well, except in different floors), Milkshake Factory is a place where you can get more than your average trio of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry milkshake flavours. If you happen to be bored by either of those flavours and always dream of something different to go with your milkshake, prepare to drop onto your knees when you see the colourful menu board atop the counter. Here, you can find flavours like Mars Shake (yes, that famous Mars chocolate bar), Kinder Bueno, Snickers Shake and Banana Nutella. Thanks to the inclusion of recognisable goodies such as Snickers and M&M’s, they certainly taste rich and creamy when they blend together with the milkshake. Apart from milkshake, they have food as well including tacos, burritos and quesadillas.More infoMilkshake Factory @ Nu Sentral View restaurant

Skillet at 163
Skillet at 163's take on its Signature Texture of Chcoclate (CNY Edition) is nothing but magical. The take on the 4 senses; sight, smell, taste and touch, is done to a whole new level. Starting with the stunning-looking presentation, followed by the use of liquid nitrogen to fill the core of the Golden "Mandarin" Orange, roasted cocoa ribs and soil, hardening them and smashing it with the hammer provided. The liquid nitrogen will then assist in making the "Mandarin Popcorn" and will then pop onto the plate. The last part of this dessert is to pour in the Citrus and Chocolate sauce, that will half-harden throughout the dessert, giving it a diverse and interesting texture to the dessert itself. This dessert is very complex and is definitely one of the must-tries of Skillet at 163.

Salon Du Chocolat @ PublikaCertified
halalEver heard of a popular phrase known as “death by chocolate”? Then ladies and gentlemen, the humble little shop of Salon Du Chocolat at Publika Shopping Gallery easily fits the chocolatey criteria just right. The crepe selection is among the highlight here, and if you’re confused on what to choose, opt for the highly-recommended Brownies Crepe or Chocolate Crepe. The crepe is soft and smooth, but it was the sinfully thick layer of chocolate that makes the overall crepe dessert such an irresistible experience. The chocolate itself is made from high-quality cocoa ingredients, and best of all, it’s not as overwhelmingly sweet as those typical sugary-rich type. If that’s not enough, you can choose to add on a scoop of ice cream to complete your chocolate indulgence. There’s even a bonus for Instagram lovers as well, thanks to its beautifully-crafted chocolate art that filled atop the cocoa-coated crepe.More infoSalon Du Chocolat @ Publika View restaurant

The Cream & Fudge Factory @ Nu Sentral
True to its name, The Cream & Fudge Factory is equivalent to an ice cream haven that feels like a sweet dream brought to vivid life. First of all, this ice cream parlour is blessed with plenty of irresistible flavours such as Cookie Dough, French Vanilla, Cheesecake and Peanut Butter. If that’s not enough, they have loads of topping that will make you spoilt for choice. You name it, candies, nuts and chocolate as well as fruit fillings such as peaches and mango chunks are among the add-on ingredients you can complement with your favourite ice cream together. To top it off, you can choose to be served either in a waffle bowl or cone selection. But above all, it was the unique hand-folding concept that makes the ice cream here something different than the usual norm. You might be wondering what is that even means? Here’s how it works: once you select your ice cream flavour(s) and your choice of topping(s), both ingredients will be mixed up altogether by using hand-folded method on a frozen marble stone. Such result makes even the typical flavour of an ice cream such as chocolate can turn into an extraordinary dessert.More infoThe Cream & Fudge Factory @ Nu Sentral View restaurant

Soon Kee Herbal House
In the midst of all the trendy and fancy desserts that dominated our local market these days, sometimes it’s nice to indulge in a good old-fashioned sweet treat. Enter Soon Kee Herbal House, a little dessert shop located just beside the two-storey building of Kheong Kee Bak Kut Teh restaurant (formerly Dolphin Café). On the surface, Soon Kee Herbal House may look like a simple setup that characterised a traditional Chinese dessert shop. But beyond that, this dessert shop is packed with lots of homemade goodness. Walk over to their fridge, and get ready to drool over with their wide choice of chilled desserts such as Sweet Potato, Corn & Water Chestnut, Gingko & Barley and Honey Dew Sago. If you’re a first-timer in this shop, one particular dessert you shouldn’t be missed out is their best-selling Longan Taufu. It’s like a “tau fu fa” (soybean/tofu pudding), except they are shaped like jelly cubes. Then there’s the juicy longan. Mixed them altogether, and you’ll be delighted with their refreshing combination of the tofu cube and longan fruit served over a bowl of sugar water (tong sui). It isn’t overly sweet either, while the tofu cube itself is silky smooth.More infoSoon Kee Herbal House View restaurant

Chez Leoniel
Have you ever thought of having orange soup for dessert? At Chez Leoniel, they serve a cold soup that is very rich with oranges as the perfect closing to your meal. The custard-y soup is filled with orange flavour, along with orange peel zest and pieces of almonds on top. The custard gives the dessert its creaminess, while the orange tasted like it has been juiced into the mix, and the zest completes the meal with its tartness. Arguably the best flavour combo, pair your orange dessert with their chocolate pastry. Freshly homemade, the pastry is so flaky and soft, and the chocolate balances the strong taste of the orange soup.

Jemi Cafe
Honey Toast has come a long way ever since its first appearance here in KL. Now, there are many variations to this box of jewels, and it does not necessarily come in a square-on toast. Jemi Cafe's version is a little more deconstructed, with each cube buttered up nicely and toasted to crispy perfection. The condiments aside are berry compote, toasted nuts, berries, macaron and finished with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Fortunately, the ice cream doesn't melt all that quickly while the toast is crispy enough to hold the liquid without getting too soggy - so that you could take your time to Instagram such as beauty.
