Junior Chellapa is an Indian restaurant that specializes in both Northern and Southern Indian cuisines! With the aim to showcase the ever-so-beautiful and fascinating Indian culture, along with introducing a contemporary twist to traditional Indian food. Thus, further spreading Indian classical cuisines and introducing it to Malaysians and tourists alike.
Junior Chellapa opened its doors in March 2016. Themed Indian murals and paintings provide a cosy ambiance all over the restaurant for an artistic touch of India in the heart of Kuala Lumpur! Cultural appreciation is what best describes this place,which showcases the beautiful heritage and artwork of India.
Let us get down to the star of the article, the food! We were first introduced to a series of Junior Chellapa’s signature dishes that showcased the restaurant’s true ability!. First up, the Chellapa Pomfret, which is their house specialty! The fish was cooked in banana leaf with a variety of spices and masalas. This gave it a pleasantly fragrant taste!
Next up we had the classic Chicken Tikka Masala that every Indian cuisine connoisseur (or even self proclaimed) loves! As classic as this dish gets, there is really nothing that can go wrong with it.The Chicken Lollipop was well seasoned and succulent!
Then we had the Mutton Seekh Kebab. A hearty combination of minced mutton that was generously marinated with a rare blend of spices; skewered and grilled, served on a platter of onions, carrots and freshly squeezed lime!
Alongside all these mains, Plain Briyani accompanied them perfectly!
For all you seafood lovers, do not worry, as Junior Chellapa is here to accommodate. Crab Masala is everyone’s favorite and it is definitely a must try at Junior Chellapa! It is delicately cooked with an extensive amount of spices, which will give your taste buds that extra “oomph”!
For a light companion to the palate, Nandu Rasam is a traditionally light Indian flower crab soup that Junior Chellapa is famous for. Its exquisite taste will definitely delight your taste buds!
To start and finish off the meal, Junior Chellapa, took a typical lassi beverage up a notch, by making it alcoholic with these Coconut Atriket Lassi and Mango Lassi Fizz cocktails!
