Opened in Kuala Lumpur 16 years ago, Ah Yat
Abalone Seafood Restaurant is well-known for serving delightful abalone dishes. The seafood restaurant was located in Jalan Pudu before moving to its new venue in Jalan
Sultan Ismail. Besides the good abalone, patrons would always go there for
their special set meal that is priced RM88++. It is so popular that the
restaurant will have a never ending line of customers. Since the restaurant is
full every day, diners have to make reservations three months in advance just to taste the
restaurant’s signature dishes.
Offering a wide range of Chinese cuisine,
customers would have so many delicious dishes to choose from. During lunch
hours, their loyal customers would always ask for the Deep-fried Crispy
Vietnamese Spring Rolls. Though it can be quite oily, but the dish is delectably
light and crispy. The signature dish of Ah Yat Abalone Seafood Restaurant is definitely
the Braised Superior Shark’s Fin Soup that is cooked carefully in a clay pot. However,
the Stewed Whole South African Fresh Abalone with Japanese Mushroom have had to
be the main attraction of this restaurant. Apparently the abalone served here
are money value due to its size and reasonable price.
Another recommended dish at Ah Yat Abalone Seafood Restaurant is the Deep-fried King Sea Prawn served alongside customary fried rice. You have yet come to the best part – the rice is yellow. It does not get the yellow colour from turmeric powder or food colouring, but they prepared it with egg yolk! You can also smell the amazing aroma of the dried scallops and spring onions added in the fried rice. Before heading back home, don’t forget to try their Almond Milk dessert that is perfect to soothe your throat after a spicy meal.
