Toast & Roast has been the go-to place for roasted pork and siew yuk, especially around the SS2 area. This place may look like a cafe from far, but inside, it's pretty much a coffee shop made pretty. Plastic tables and chairs, delicious selection of roasted goodies, that's about it - nothing fancy or overdone decor. As for the hakka noodle, you can expect a great deal flavour and texture. Topped with well marinated pork minced, crispy pork lard and chopped spring onion, the dish is delightful till the last bite.

Ying Ker Lou is one of the only hakka restaurant that has made it into major shopping malls. You can enjoy a great variety of hakka specialty dishes from them, at the comfort of a mall. Not only are most of the dishes being made premiu, the ingredients are fresh and the method of preparation remains true to its original, or as close as possible. As for the hakka noodle, it has great flavour from the light broth, as well as a chewy and firm noodle texture.

Unlike many others, the hakka noodles here at Restoran Sin Loong aren't as 'twirly', and it's a lot more straighter than it's supposed to be. It also comes in two options, wet or dry, both of which are pretty good in its own way. Noodles are cooked to perfection, and the sauce used for the dry variant is quite good as well. As for the soup version, it's a lot like kuey teow soup, just with a firmer and more wrinkly noodle. All and all, it may not be the most authentic, but hey, it's a pretty good bowl of noodles.

    SRK

Though it's not exactly hakka mee per se, it does have similar qualities. Known as the mee pok, an alternative if you're looking for hakka noodles, but not able to get any nearby. The only difference would be the sauce as hakka noodles using clear fish sauce while mee pok uses dark soy and vinegar. In any case, they're slightly different in flavour but the feeling and texture is pretty similar. So do visit SRK Noodle House if you've ran out of options!
