Sisters Kopitiam is located within the busy hub of SS16 and boasts to serve authentic Penang delights. Despite their name, they are in no way related to the Sisters Char Kuey Teow in Penang. Instead, it is named after the pair of sisters who opened this outlet. Nevertheless, patrons from Subang Jaya and the areas nearby don’t have to drive all the way up north to sample the famous Penang dishes anymore.

The interior of the shop is simple but comfortable. Rattling celling fans cool the customers down from the blazing Malaysian heat and the shop is spacious with wooden benches and tables. Pictures of their delicacies are plastered all over the walls, spoiling patrons with choices. They attract a wide range of customers as their restaurant is halal certified.

Their signature dish is of course the Char Kuey Teow. Skilfully fried on strong fire Penang-style, the noodles are golden brown and deliciously charred. It comes with an ample amount of bean sprouts, chopped chives, eggs and cockles. The prawns are juicy, fresh and big. Slightly spicy, it definitely has the Penang taste! Do also sample their Hokkien Char. The noodle is well fried and comes with an ample amount of black sauce unlike some of the dryer varieties. It comes with special chilli paste often paired with this dish and is showered with a generous amount of shallots. Their Curry Mee comes with a slightly sweet broth that is laden with coconut milk. You can adjust the spiciness of the dish according to the amount of chilli paste added.

Pair your meal with a glass of Iced Coffee, which is thick and slightly savoury just like the original Penang coffee.
