Warung Kak Zai’s famed Nasi Dagang is situated right across from Restoran Ameen Bistro in Keramat. Although just a small food shack, Kak Zai cookes up a mean Nasi Dagang in translation it literally means “Trading Rice”. A well-known breakfast meal originating from the states on the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia such as Terengganu and Kelantan. According to some customers, Kak Zai used to run the food shack and cooks the Nasi Dgang herself. After some time, she trained her workers to whip up her special recipe. Today, Kak Zai is there from time to time to oversee her food shack.

Warung Kak Zai occupies a small shack that’s opened space. There’s a lack of air ventilation as the small food shack is unable to fit a large amount of customers. Most of the time, you can see customers coming in either to dine in if spaces are available or either take away their meals to eat at home. Many have mentioned that Kak Zai’s Nasi Dagang is one of the best in KL however but its hygiene does not stand at the same level with their famed dish.

Kak Zai’s authentic Terengganu style Nasi dagang draws a fragrant fluffy white grain rice with coconut milk which evenly balances the texture out. Served with a thick and marginally sweet but incredibly appetising gulai ikan tongkol (spicy fish red curry cooked with tuna and a hoard of spices) to go with it. Aside from the famed nasi dagang, you can also get nasi lemak with the ikan tongkol together which is also quite a popular dish among the crowd.
