Nothing can go wrong with a plate of hot Japanese curry served with breaded deep-fried cutlets and fragranced white rice.  When you visit this Japanese canteen-like concept restaurant located in Taman Paramount, you will be welcomed with Japanese sliding wooden door which the exterior would look like one of those neighbourhood dining places in Japan. Inside, the interior of the place is very homey and comfortable, filled with wooden chairs and long tables, similar to a laid-back café concept. The semi-self-service restaurant has a cement counter for diners to refill their ocha and place their orders.

Shokudo Japanese Curry Rice’s menu offers a variety of options to go with their signature Japanese Curry. You can either go with their creamy non-spicy Japanese Curry served with pork cutlet, stir fried chicken, deep-fried ebi, vegetables, omelettes or potato croquettes. The Japanese Curry Rice served with potato croquettes are highly recommended as the crispy and creamy potato croquettes are made fresh by Shokudo.

Or if you are not in the mood for a katsudon, you also go for the Udon which is served with curry less thicker than the ones served with rice. Sushis are not available in the menu but other Japanese cuisine such as Donburi, Agemoni, Nabe, Udon and Ramen as well as Salad and Yakimono is offered as an alternative choice. Finish your meal with a homemade caramel pudding or matcha ice cream topped with strawberries, marshmallow and cornflakes as dessert.

For all the Japanese curry lovers out there, Shokudo Japanese Curry Rice would definitely be a place that you won’t want to miss.
