There is something to be said for a solid neighbourhood eatery, a place versatile enough for a casual bite or a special occasion. Such is the charm of Peppercorn Café, a Subang Jaya all-time favourite restaurant—with dimmed lights and yellow walls—that takes its casualness and hominess seriously. The owners combined their experience and love for food in an approachable Western menu.

An escargot appetizer is simply presented with no shells attached to them with toothsome red wine and mixed herbs butter that gives you a nice texture and flavour. Warm chicken soup is something you would imagine eating when it’s too cold to cook—a pulpy bowl with chunks of bread crumbs. Seating in the restaurant – a simple decorated space that almost feels like home will make you feel at ease while enjoying great home cook cuisine.

Dinner provided more heart-warming plates. Chewy house-made spaghetti is dotted with fresh veggies, all in a basic sauce of tomato paste, lemon juice, butter and parsley. The mixed grill meal featured juicy, tender and perfectly cooked meat over a nice salad and nicely done French fries. The fish and chips can also be considered as one of the main attraction of this eatery. For breakfast lovers, their breakfast set will only costs you RM7 and there are four set selections available to kick off your day feeling energise.

Dessert wise, it is highly recommended to try their crème caramel served alongside a scoop of ice cream. This restaurant is not just famous among the local residents for its yummy cuisine, but it is also known for offering affordable priced gastronomies. If you don’t want to put a hole in your pocket, go for their lunch set that consists of soup of the day, garlic bread, main course, coffee/tea and dessert. If you're looking for a simple, home-cook food style of western cuisine, then this is the place!
