Jonker Street in Melaka is a foodie heaven and Geographer Cafe sits itself as an establishment dated back almost decades ago. Located at the corner lot of a pre war Malaccan shop house, Geographer Cafe is a corner lot pub grub dawned under an old heritage building that serves a mixture of Asian cuisine with Westernized pub. The classic style of the old shop lot has been renovated and added in a much hip and jazzy sentiment reflected in some of the decorations and furniture and yet does not lose its warm ambience with the building’s old architecture respond to cultural and spiritual expectations of the Chinese Temple and Muslim Mosque situated just the at the opposite of the street. For many regulars, first timers, and even seasoned travellers would opt for this eatery for a casual food and drink or simply to grab a pint on a weekend night in the company of live Jazz entertainment playing in the background.

The menu oddly stands extensive ranging from Malaysian’s local forte of Nasi Lemak as one of the mains to a much simpler bowl of salads. But the drinks are pretty indecently comprehensive with beers, wines, spirits, cocktails, mocktails or any pub drinks one can think of and not to mention their excellent Lavassa coffee, juices, and varieties of teas. It is a no wonder that patrons love it here for just a casual hangout and sips of drinks. At night, throngs of people would swarm themselves here so a little heads up to first-timers, be sure to be there before eight to dodge the massive crowd.
