Classix 253 is a restaurant near the stadium at Fairpark in Ipoh. The restaurant have found recent success with the opening of two more branches in other parts of Ipoh as well as one under joined cooperation with the Perak Islamic Council. Classix 253 is a restaurant that focused on western cuisine as well as some local one to cater to as many people as possible.
This branch is the first branch of Classix
253 and truly it has more character to it. While the place has an open air
concept, with blue tents set up outside for the crowds at certain times, the
interior inside the restaurant was tastefully done in a traditional Malay
style. Known as quite hipster café of Ipoh, needless to say the classic kampong
décor of old furniture, even an old television, comes as a surprise but the
appreciative kind. Inside of the restaurant is further furnished with wooden
kopitiam style seating, with one wall of chalk board where patrons could leave
their comments.
While celebrated dishes
include the Chicken Chop, burgers and pastas, the people crowding this
establishment is due to their cheap price especially comes the ‘happy hour’.
Although happy hours are usually related to alcohol, the concept of items cheaper
than usual is adapted to set meals at more than affordable prices. Comes in
five choices, Classix 253 also have something if you happen to come with
families or in a big group. The family jumbo meal has four options according to
the number of people you have in your group. The catch is however, it only
applies to the first 100 customer in between 5 – 7 PM every day. With refillable drinks, be it west or local like the Nasi Kukus with spiced fried chicken, Classix 253 is a worthwhile visit.
