Situated within the oldest colonial building that has been turned into one of the grandest hotels in Penang, Sarkies is considered one of Penang's best-loved eateries to have a worthwhile all-day buffet dining experience for both locals and tourists. Another plus point is, it is certified halal. It used to be known as Sarkies Corner but now it is currently an independent section on its own located as a neighbouring restaurant but operating under the name Sarkies. Sarkies Corner on the other hand only offers weekend specialties plus ala-carte menu on local street food and international dishes. Therefore, do not get confused from both the different sections of the restaurant.

This early-American-styled restaurant has an extremely large interior with floors layered with classic-designed tiles and dark wooden furniture. The whole place is surrounded by windowed doors overlooking a panoramic view of the seafront. You can choose to sit outside for a more breath-taking sight and the natural sea breeze to keep you company.

An amazing factor about Sarkies is they provide buffets for every time of the day within a certain time frame; from as early as breakfast, lunch, hi tea and dinner but according to certain time frames allocated. For dinner on Friday and Saturday, there is the ‘Wine and Dine’ theme where you are entitled to free flow of Red Wine, White Wine and Beer. During selected months, the management comes up with promotional themed buffets or anything to cater for Malaysian-celebrated events like Ramadhan. One of them would be the Seafood Extravaganza which showcases a collection of underwater delicacies you can ever imagine.

There are always live cooking stations in each division to showcase talented chefs preparing particular dishes. With the overwhelming amount of patrons every day, each station will have about 5 to 10 chefs working their magic at one time. It is similar to having a food voyage as you venture to different parts of the restaurant to experiment a taste of both local and international delicacies, all under one roof.

Despite a large buffet meal, there is always room for dessert. We would know because Sarkies has possibly the largest selection of it. Try the Pavlova, we hear the melting in your mouth sensation is true.

Undeniably the best of the best place to enjoy fine food, don’t you agree? WE DEFINITELY DO!
