Tucked away in a village house along the streets of Jalan Paya Terubong, opposite the Sapphire Apartment and not too far from the Kuta Bali Food Court, lies a Hokkien Mee (known as Prawn Mee in other states) stall. Although it is a buried treasure for the most part, is has still managed to garner a great reputation among the locals and people from other states. Dining here kicks in a laid-back and peaceful vibe which is often not the case to other Hokkien Mee stalls.

At this humble stall, you can enjoy this famous Penang delicacy as it is. If you're looking for more diversity, you can add more toppings and ingredients like braised pork intestines, pork ribs and other options for noodles. On top of this, a large pot of chilli paste is placed on the side of the stall to freely add more spice should more of a kick be desired in your bowl of noodles.

Besides serving Hokkien Mee, this stall also serves up a variety of different fried noodles which include mee, meehoon, and Maggi noodles. All these can also be upsized as well. You can also wash all this down with a good cup of coffee in the stall adjacent to the Hokkien Mee stall.

So if you're ever in the Air Itam area and are looking for a nice, hot bowl of soup for breakfast to get your day started, look no further than the Hokkien Mee stall located at Jalan Paya Terubong. This rendition of the Penang classic will be sure to get you ready to take on the rest of the day.
