A cosy hawker stall with plastic chairs and rattling celling fans, Kedai Makanan Dan Minuman Chop Beeng Cheong is located at Kampung Lapan nearby Tun Tuah High School. It is by no means the most comfortable place to hang out at, but do drop by if you’re looking to have a late afternoon chat over lip-smacking hawker food. Insanely famous, it is flocked by Malacans and tourists alike. The locals often refer to this place as the head-shaking wantan noodles shop as the chef is always shaking his head while cooking the noodles.

The Wantan Mee is of the standard Malaccan style with clear, slightly spicy sauce which retains the original taste of the noodles. It is laden with minced pork and baths the noodles in ample amounts. The noodles are thin, springy and devoid of any unpleasant alkaline taste. A dollop of chilli sauce serves to enhance the taste buds of the adventurous tongues. Of course, do not forget the pickled green chillies if you want to give the dish a sour spin.

If you are a fan of poultry, the Grilled Chicken Wings there are well-seasoned with spicy powder and grilled to perfection. Slightly charred, they are crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. The Oo Jien (Fried Oyster with Eggs) is also delectable, a perfect mixture of eggs, chilli, spring onions and fresh, juicy oysters. Garnished with coriander leaves and lime, the dish manages to retain its moisture while being crispy at the same time.
