Restaurant Goon Wah is a Chinese Restaurant based in Kuchai Lama. The restaurant began as a buffet catering service almost 2 decades ago in 1997, and was the brainchild of a husband and wife team known to most of us and Mr. and Mrs. Lee. Their goal was to provide their diners with unparalleled enjoyment and satisfaction. Needless to say, they have succeeded in doing so as this establishment has been delighting locals and foodies alike from its first outlet in Taman Kuchai Lama, with its unique menu, high quality produce and efficient service. The success and momentum of this has led to the opening of a number of other branches located in Damansara Jaya, and First Plaza.
One of the dishes that you can expect to find here at Restaurant Goon Wah is their famous “Claypot XO Fish Head Noodles” which features ingredients such as fish (imported from New Zealand), yam slices, tofu cubes, tomatoes, salted vegetables and noodles. Another favourite amongst regulars at the restaurant is the the “Claypot Loh Shi Fun”, which is meant to mimic a treasure box, with a variety of ingredients such as dried prawns, spring onions, minced pork, pork lard, and much more.
An interesting thing to note is that Goon Wah still conducts its catering services that it was known for many years ago. However, it is only available on weekends, which ultimately esults in the restaurant closing during the weekends. Simply put, if you ever have the chance to try out Restaurant Goon Wah, do not miss out on that opportunity.
