Bread Lounge is a bakery slash cafe on the ground floor of the GTower in Jalan Tun Razak. Known to serve delectable breads and pastries, Bread Lounge is proof that quality products don’t always have to cost an arm and a leg.
Like its name suggests, Bread Lounge is great for lounging, for breakfast or lunch, for a business meeting, or to wind down after a stressful day. The ambience is gives off the feeling of exclusivity like dining in high level restaurant, but minus all the price tag that comes with the branding and luxury. Calming and serene, a day spent at Bread Lounge would lift up spirits and warm the heart with their scrumptious offerings.
The thing about the chefs at Bread Lounge is that while they try to incorporate as much local flavour in the menu, each dish are made using the original recipe without any changes, giving it the classic authenticity many similar places lacked. For instance, the croissant and the scones are made using the classic French and English recipes respectively as the chefs believe in the power of the original.
The cakes and macaroons here mostly come in exciting combination of flavours that go well with each other without being overpowering. Some of the combinations are Pumpkin Gula Melaka, and Green Tea and Bunga Kantan but at the same time, normal flavours are given the equal attention like the Guanaja 70% and Hazelnut Praline that is full of cocoa delight. Bread Lounge is not all about the pastries and none of the carbohydrates. While the pies and pizzas are worthwhile, keep a eye out on monthly lunch specials with dishes like Nasi Lemak, Nasi Goreng Sambal Belacan, and various noodles. No meal is complete without a drink; the coffee and juices here are also not to be missed.
