Best Satays in PJ

Written by Updated ago

Celup-celup bersama! Translated to English, it means, Let’s dip together! Satay or also originally and popularly known as sate, has been an iconic Malay dish that’s mainly comprised of just one ingredient; seasoned meat! Most satay meat is smothered with turmeric powder and grilled on charcoal until it’s fully cooked, some are burnt until the skin is dark and that’s where the smokey taste comes from! Impress your friends and family, especially the ones living abroad coming back for a holiday, to some of Kuala Lumpur’s best satay around!

With the owner and chef who has personally stayed in Bali for more than 8 years just to study Balinese cuisine, how can the food not be superb? The Uma allows us to get up close and personal with authentic Balinese cuisine and boy, do they serve the best satay here. If you’re bored of the old and ordinary satay you have around you, how about giving the assam pork satay a try? I did type that out correctly and isn’t that just interesting? Juicily marinated and tender to the very end, this pork satay is stated in the menu that it comes without any type of sauce. It’s so juicy, sauce is not needed for this dish!

Similar to Bumbu Bali and Ole-Ole Bali, The Waterlily Cafe serves contemporary Balinese cuisines with a small selection of fusion and western cuisines too. The satay here is not made of meat, but a selection of fresh fish paste minced together onto a lemongrass stick. Not too salty or overly-marinated, the sate lilit here is worth trying.
