Best Sarawak Kolo Mee in Kuching

Written by Updated ago

Kolo Mee (also known as Mi Kolok) is a dish originated from Sarawak, consisting of the famous springy egg noodles coated with sauce. Where else to hunt for the authentic taste of Kolo Mee if not Kuching, right? The so-called Sarawakian Chinese's favourite dish is usually drenched in pork lard and shallots oil, topped with cha siew (barbeque pork) and minced pork and complemented with sides of pickled chillies and a bowl of soup. In fact, Kolo Mee caters to both locals and travellers' crave for a delectable choice of noodles. Other than the typical Red Kolo Mee, there are also White and Black Kolo Mee.

Serapi Corner serves one of the best halal Kolo Mee in Kuching. Although it is more prominently known as the Sarawakian Chinese's favourite, the locals have long came up with many variations of the curly egg noodles - including catering it to Muslims' need. Darker in colour and different in taste, the Mee Kolo served in this cafe is on par with other variations holding the same name. Another unique variation of the noodles, Mee Kolo Goreng is also offered here.
