Swich Cafe
Although we think that the trend of red velvet is slowly coming to and end, it doesn't mean that there aren't any left. Swich Cafe's variant was a little more dry compared to most but the cream cheese was indeed delicious. The portion was pretty generous as well and we really enjoyed the cranberries on top.More info

Standing Theory
Located at the ever so famous SS2, Standing Theory is shyly located away from the commercial area and it’s a little hard to find due to its dim lighting. Its décor is simplistic but their menu is the BOMB. Their coffees and cakes are pretty too. With the Red Velvet cake standing at a really huge and tall portion, its cream cheese didn’t fail to stack up as thick as its fluffy counterparts too! A Slice of Heaven
With a few stores and franchises over Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya, A Slice of Heaven makes the best cakes in the region. Its Red Velvet is pretty special as the cream cheese on top also comes with a tinge of rose-like frosting. Its cake is moist but light and fluffy at the same time. After trying this beautiful piece of cake, you’ll be in heaven in no time.More info

Rekindle
With raging cravings during late nights, Rekindle Café is one of the most antique cafes that will still serve the best coffee and cakes late until 12am. Its interior decoration is antique and they use a lot of their own art work too. There are some cakes that contain alcohol so, be wary when you order if you’re not a big fan of alcohol in your desserts! The Red Velvet cake is moist and the abundance of the cream cheese frosting is so sweet, you’ll need a black coffee to go along with it. Overall and unlike other Red Velvets, it’s a pretty cake with an apparent cocoa flavour.More info

As regal as its name, the baristas at Artisan Roast Coffee take their expertise very seriously. Roasting their own coffee beans into perfection at Section 13, Petaling Jaya, this perfectionism induced café is in a middle of a manufacturing area and the insides of the store has very high ceilings; leaving patrons in awe at the tremendously wide space. Their perfect coffees go very well with the Red Velvet cake they have. With more cake than cream cheese frosting, the textures and tastes combine really well. Formed by the Big Group, Plan B has been an iconic hotspot in town for foodie enthusiasts ever since it opened its doors. It is famous for its laid back atmosphere and excellent service. With so many projects under the Big Group, it is with such pride and happiness that Plan B has never seized to give surprises endlessly. Its Red Velvet cake is one of a kind! Fluffy and sweet; it comes with a layer of cream cheese frosting on top and TWO layers of melting chocolate sauce in between of the cakes. This gives the original cocoa-ey flavour to the cake. Catered to those who fancy casual dining and delicious food, The Apartment at The Curve is designed for that. The interior décor of this restaurant is like…an apartment. Modern with touches of minimalistic furniture and high ceilings, it’s hard not to get comfortable here. The Red Velvet cake here has two cheesy layers of cream cheese frosting topped with thick strawberry syrup. The cake and frosting are separated well enough to make anybody go gaga!More info

If you want a place to just enjoy nice cakes and beverages away from the hustle and bustle of the city, come on over and give this gem a try. Bricks Coffee is fairly new and founded by couple, Eric and Samantha, in fulfilment of their sweet passion for coffee. Located at Damansara Perdana, the décor is modern Nyonya style with wooden sofas and furniture. Their Red Velvet cake is cleanly cut and simply delicious. Moist and light on the cream cheese with a tinge of cocoa in the cake, it’s a place to chill or study with a nice cup of tea or coffee.More info

Fat Spoon café is made up by two sisters who have a sharing passion of good food. With a combination of Western and local fusion, Fat Spoon is definitely a place to visit on an empty stomach. Their Red Velvet cake is pretty unique, with just a tinge of cream cheese frosting, this cake is served warm. Interesting, isn’t it?
