The Dim Sum menu here at Food Tree Restaurant offers a broad selection of up to 30 types of Dim Sum. But not to worry, the Dim Sums here are certified halal. Like most Dim Sum places, they serve both fried and steamed Dim Sums here. If you favour the crispy, juicy fried Dim Sums, definitely try out their Beancurd Roll with Prawn Squid and cheese. But if you are opting for the fresh steamed Dim Sum, then the classic Shrimp Dumplings are your thing, perfected while dipped with soy sauce and ginger. Other than that, you should also try out the Shrimp Roe Dumplings, Salad Prawn Puff and Pan Fried Shang Hai Dumplings which are also Dim Sum classics.

    Tai Zi Heen

Good dim sum buffets are really scarce, especially when it comes to a 5-star hotel. Generally as we all know, luxury oriental restaurant do not offer dim sum buffet as they believe each basket is crafted to perfection. Hence, a 5-star dim sum buffet is almost impossible. However, despite all the impossibilities, Tai Zi Heen seems to have broken that perception. Abundance of varieties, great flavours, good textures, mesmerizing interior and best of all, value for money dim sum!

    Maju Palace

Making dim sum without pork is quite a difficult thing to do – more so if it were to be delicious or even come close to the taste and texture of a good pork dim sum. However, expectations are met in Maju Palace. Owned and managed by Oriental Group of Companies, their selection of restaurants has been quite well received. As a whole, Maju Palace offers both quality and flavour within a reasonable price-range.
    Tips

Abundance of seats, no worries about reservation.

    Things to expect

Clean, slightly over decorated oriental style interior.

    Best with

Shrimp Dumpling, Char Siew Pao, Fried Beancurd, Lemon Grass-jelly, Custurd Bun and Ginger Soup with Sesame Glutinous Rice Ball.

Siang has been an anchor-point for Halal Dim Sum & Buffet for quite a long time. Serving an array of uniquely crafted dim sum in a beautifully designed oriental themed dining, they’d definitely garnished quite an attention. Especially with its prime location, office people from nearby buildings and offices tend to go over for lunch. Flavours are extremely important to Siang Seafood Restaurant. Almost every basket of dim sum had a great depth of flavour along with a decent texture.
    Tips

Avoid leaving/entering the building (SOGO) between 6-7pm on weekdays due to the horrendous jam.

    Things to expect

Grade A cleanliness and friendly service. Rather packed on weekend brunch.

    Best with

Siu Mai, Shanghai Dumpling, Fish Porridge, Mini Egg Tart, and Chilled Mango Puree with Vanilla Ice Cream.

It is indeed odd to be heading towards a convention center for a meal, even more so when it’s for halal dim sum. However, do not let that statement fool you as China Treasures at the Sime Darby Convention Center offers one of the most extensive range of dim sum available with a pretty nifty price. It is helmed by a renowned Chinese Chef and they offer delicious Halal Chinese cuisine, which of course, includes dim sum. If you’re planning on a business meeting or simply a family gathering, there are private rooms available for 4-40 person in the restaurant as well!
    Tips

GPS the location before leaving if unfamiliar with the place as it is quite confusing. Free Wifi as well.

Stylish and contemporary restaurant with great service! Not to mention the abundance of parking.
