Be it fried or wet, popiah (a.k.a. spring roll) is a popular local snack that can be eaten anytime of the day. Typically, popiah is stuffed with a combination of crunchy fillings such as shredded yam bean (sengkuang, which is a must!) and vegetables (carrots & cucumbers). Of course, what’s a popiah without a dip of sweet and/or spicy chilli sauce? Other fusion types of popiah such as seaweed popiah and Vietnamese rolls can be found as well.
