Looking for a full-fledged Nyonya feast? Look no further, along the tranquil Kelawai Road is Perut Rumah, which seems to be an institution of Nyonya cuisine. Stepping into this heritage bungalow is akin to travelling back too olden Peranakan days, with shelves occupied with traditional porcelains and mugs, antique ornaments, Peranakan-style flooring, little plants adoring the walls of the dining space and chalkboards. Pai tee is among the pride of the menu, mixture of yambean, carrots and mushrooms are fried together with slices of pork and shoved into the crispy top hats. Pan your sight all over the cafe, hot woks are tossing noodles, apoms are elegantly beings rolled and patrons are piling up orders like there is no tomorrow. Everything is absolutely delicious, which includes the pai tee. Rather underrated, yet it's a sleeper hit.
