Best Asam Pedas in Kuching

Written by Updated ago

Literally translates to 'sour-spicy', this stew-like dish is a great compliment to rice. Inside the soup, or gravy, you'll find a series of vegetables, chillis, and of course, fish (sometimes fish head) as well. The combination of all these 3 ingredients makes it absolutely delicious, and a great way to store for several days as well.

Resto Ala Kampung doesn't really serve asam pedas per se, but their grilled fish with asam pedas sauce is undeniably a good replacement. The fish is beautifully grilled to juicy perfection, where the flesh is still flaky and moist while the skin being incredibly crispy. A generous serving of sauce is then douse on top and served on a banana leaf. Lovely!
