For a truly homemade dining experience, Fifth Palate provides just that. This simple and humble eatery is brought to the neighbourhood from a family affair of founders Timmy and Caryne, a brother and sister duo whereby the brother rules the kitchen and the sister manages the front of house whilst dad prepares a variety of homemade yoghurt, chutneys and sauces used for their range of dishes in the menu. Adorned with simple rustic wooden tables and chic black chairs along with white vintage brick walls and plenty of natural lights through their wide windows, patrons will be delighted with their home-grown and Instagram worthy menu.
Despite the café’s only first year of providing homely experience to the customers, there are already favourite signature dishes amongst patrons. One of it is the Butcher’s Breakfast – a big breakfast dish filled with choice of scrambled, poached or fried eggs as well as choice of streaky pork bacon or ham, pork sausage, portabella mushroom, in-house made chutney, arugula, cherry tomatoes and tater tots along with two slices of toasted wholemeal rye bread all served on a pan-like dish atop a wooden plank.
Another signature dish and the founders’ own favourite, Turkish Baked Eggs made with in-house made spiced aubergine and tomato sauce, sausages, eggs and mozzarella cheese served along with two slices of toasted wholemeal rye bread. Also thriving to bring uniqueness in their homemade dishes, Everybody Loves Ramen is another signature dish made with poached hen’s egg, slow braised pork belly, apricot mushroom, spring onion with shoyu broth.
If sweet is the way you roll for brunch, Fifth Palate rolls along by serving Drunken Frenchman – a sinful French toast dish with caramelised banana, strips of bacon, in-house made peanut butter and Guinness Stout reduction.
The homemade venture does not stop at brunch. Fifth Palace also makes their own homemade yoghurt with four flavours: wheatgrass, soursop, mango and plain. There are also jars of their homemade Dennis & Sons by Fifth Palace Peanut Butter, Rojak sauce and Aubergine chutney available for customers to bring home.
The drinks offered at Fifth Palace are simply coffee, iced chocolate, tea as well as soft drinks and cold pressed juices by This Juice Co. There are also a range of cakes available for tea time.
