Korean fried chicken’s one of the many pleasures that one can savour. Fried and seasoned to perfection in a Korean style, this meal of wonder is usually served as fast food in bars or as an after meal snack in Korea. Wawa Chicken came about not too long ago in Johor Bahru and has been very successful running its business.

Located in City Square Mall further down opposite Ajisen Ramen, you’ll be greeted with bright yellow food shack with its bright lit signboard. The restaurant occupies a small food kiosk painted a bright yellow. A total eye catcher and also easy lookout from a distance. There are a few high tables and chairs placed around but not many as the restaurant are not able to occupy such a large area. A large screen TV is placed on the countertop to display any promotions and their best buys.

Wawa chicken’s best-seller is the extra spicy chicken wings. The chickens used are only local, they do not practice the concept of using frozen chicken to serve their customers. Every customer gets a taste of freshly fried chicken. Aside from the best-seller, the chicken drumsticks that’s marinade in soy sauce, there’s also another version of it covered with cheese. It comes with a side of fries but you can choose not have it as well. If you want a heavier meal to go for the Rice Box Combo which includes one chicken wing, two drumsticks and white rice covered with mayonnaise and soy sauce. As an appetiser, you could also go for the Snow Potato where it basically turns a whole potato into bite sized potato cheese dusted with cheese powder.

You’ve got no worries of dealing with slow service and fully occupied seats if you come before peak hours. Even if you’re not able to the wait, it’ll just be served slightly longer than the usual waiting period.
