Tim Ho Wan @ 1 Utama Petaling Jaya

Tim Ho Wan is the Dim Sum restaurant for you if you are looking to try some Michelin-starred restaurants for a very affordable price. The Dim Sum franchise originally from Hong Kong is known to be the cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant in the world. The restaurant is an above average Hong Kong eatery that is located inside the mall. You need not to worry about being sweaty after the meal as the place is fully air-conditioned. However, it is best to avoid going during lunch hours if you do not want to be caught up in a queue.

Of course, the normal Dim Sum selections such as har gow, siew mai, egg tarts and a variety of others are available in the menu. However, the must try in Tim Ho Wan would be no other than their "Big 4 Heavenly Kings" which is their signature dishes that gained them an entry in the Michelin Guide.

One of the must tries would be their BBQ Pork Bun which is not the usual steamed bun, the BBQ Pork Bun here is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Other signature dishes would be their Vermicelli Roll served with sesame sauce, pan fried carrot cake and their super fluffy steamed egg cakes that is said to take up to 3 days to prepare.

Dim sum is best served with Chinese tea without objection but if you are looking for a sweet aftertaste, you can try out their signature dessert which is the Mango Sago Pomelo which is said to have a silky texture and the fragrance of the mango complements it perfectly.

While you are there, you can also try out the other dim sum options from their 25 items menu including har gow, siew mai, chicken feet braised with abalone sauce, beafball with beancurd skin, yam puff, egg tarts, tonic and medlar jelly and lotus leaf steam rice and others.
