Hou Mei Wo Pork Bone Steamboat 好味猪骨火锅 George Town

Toys and steamboats, they both have similarities. It may sound quite weird as they are two totally different things. Childhood memories is what both of them may bring to the table. As children, we enjoyed playing with toys as much as the excitement of an announcement of a steamboat dinner. These days, steamboat restaurant are everywhere, they all sell roughly the same things but in different environments.

Situated in Bayan Baru, this restaurant is like some, it has branches – two in Ipoh, Perak. So, you could head on to any of them should you be in the mood to try this company’s steamboat. Actually, the restaurant here is not over the top fancy. It is just nice in terms of ambience and décor – cosy, simple and spacious. As the place can get quite busy, do consider coming earlier or avoiding entirely the peak times, to avoid standing and waiting for a vacant table. Spaciousness does a lot in this case, it allows waiters and waitresses as well as you to ferry orders around and heading to the washroom respectively.

However, do bring along your family members or friends because let’s face it, eating steamboat alone is not all that worth it. While here, do give their signature pork bone soup a go. It includes vegetables, bean curd skin and even deep fried yam. If you like it spicy then, the tom yam soup is also an option or even better both of them, one on each side to get the best of both worlds. Fresh fish and pork slices is also a must try, especially with your preferred broth.
