Fong Yuan Steamboat Sri Petaling

  • Steamboat or Hot Pot is a favourite delicacy famously known in East and Southeast Asia. Although historically, it is a dish eaten during winter, in Malaysia where such things
cease to exist, the dish is equally as popular.

Fong Yuan Steamboat used to be under a different name but after undergoing changes in management, the restaurant came back better in every sense of the word. The menu generally kept the way it was, with a few changes here and there. Other things got better like the much more welcoming service and all of these for a lower price than what it used to be. The interior of the restaurant is decorated tastefully with wooden floors and wooden panels on the walls, creating an upscale environment with a sense of exclusivity.

New additions were added under the new management such as the availability of actual bones in their base broth. Bones are known to give out more flavour the longer they are boiled, thus a famous customer favourite, and crucial to any steamboat restaurant. The effort can be seen in the signature pork bone soup that proves to be a crowd favourite.
Another popular broth out of the eight available choices is the Szechuan spicy soup, and both are best enjoyed with the array of good quality ingredients at Fong Yuan. Balled up meat, fish, and prawns are the ultimate choice of ingredient, and Fong Yuan made sure theirs are all freshly homemade. Other raw ingredients are also ensured to be only the freshest best. They also offer pork noodles for the enjoyment of customers but only available from opening ‘till 5 PM.

Weekdays are excitingly busy especially during dinner time, while weekends you might just have to call and reserve beforehand to avoid disappointment.
