Behold A Li Yaa Island Restaurant & Bar, the first and only restaurant that offers authentic Sri Lankan flavour in Kuala Lumpur since 2008. The word 'Aliyaa', which means elephant in Singhalese, is a sacred animal found most in Sri Lankan temples. The restaurant presents a classy and relaxing atmosphere with black tablecloths on white table placements in addition to dimmed lights over elegant art paintings hung on the walls.
As authentic as its name, A Li Yaa Island Restaurant & Bar creates their menu recipes with handed down recipes from generations of mothers in Sri Lanka homes. These recipes are then flourished by native Sri Lankan chefs with more than 10 years of experience. To further ensure its promise of authenticity, the restaurant imports its own spices and flours from Sri Lanka.
Originating from Sri Lanka, their desserts are also a must try. Unlike any other desserts, the Vatilaapam is a traditional Sri Lankan pudding made of coconut, brown palm sugar, eggs and spices that include cinnamon and cardamom. As this pudding melts effortlessly in the mouth, it gives off wonderful creaminess with a hint of caramel that combines both sweetness and bold flavours of Sri Lanka.
What makes the whole menu of this restaurant unique is the Sri Lankan Sambal Set that is made up of four types of sambal: the Seeni Sambal, the Pol Sambal, the Karupillay Sambal and the Katta Sambal which they each own a special unique taste and personality that fit everyone's taste buds. Patrons are also able to enjoy the dishes with the accompany of a variety of unique drinks from the restaurant's bar.
