Best Asam Laksa in Penang

Written by Updated ago

Sweet, sour and spicy – those are the three magic words best described for fulfiling a satisfying bowl of Penang asam laksa. With a smorgasbord of slurpy white rice noodles, shredded fish (typically mackerel), sliced pineapples, cucumber, onions, red chillis, lettuce, mint leaves steeped within the tamarind-flavoured soup base, what’s not to like about this all-time Malaysian favourite?

The kind of food that is hidden from the world is usually not bad at all. There is a delightful hidden gem concealed at a housing area in Ayer Itam that takes a bit of effort to go to but all of that will not matter once you have a taste of their asam laksa that stays true of its authenticity. Fill up your tummy with this bowl of slurp goodness filled with thick fish broth full of fish flakes and slightly chewy laksa noodle that everyone can enjoy from the homemade feeling and flavour!
